This is my first tattoo that I got just yesterday. For those who can’t tell or aren’t sure what it is, it’s from the Disney movie Pocahontas. It’s her armband. She’s my favorite. I’ve had the same Pocahontas designed pillowcase since I was three years old. I’ve always wanted a Pocahontas tattoo, but wasn’t sure of what until I came to college and had friends help me figure it out. It’s so much more than just my favorite Disney movie. It’s been like my security blanket when things were/are tough. I’d watch the movie whenever I wanted to feel better and it always worked, still does. (: Pocahontas herself has strength, hope, and love for life. I love that. Being part Native American, when I was little I loved acting like I was Pocahontas. Getting this tattoo has made me a very happy person (: Now, regardless of having to carry my pillow around, a little bit of Pocahontas will always be with me. <3

I’d wanted this for six years as a dedication to my Nana who died of breast cancer when I was eleven. She loved hummingbirds, and one of my favorite memories of her was sitting on her front porch watching the diffirent ones fly back and forth from the flowers she planted to the many hummingbird feeders she put out for them every year. I’m so happy with it and it’s a way for me to always have a part of her by my side.
This would be a marvelous thigh piece :) just maybe
